Fittipaldi Brings Motor-Racing Pedigree to Yachtbuilding.

 Bazilian former Formula One racecar driver and team owner Wilson
Fittipaldi has joined forces with Miami-based designer Luiz de Basto to create a
new series of luxury motor yachts under the name Fittipaldi Yachts. The new
Fittipaldi Yachts shipyard is located in the port city of Angra dos Reis near
Rio de Janeiro. The yard currently has under construction a pair of similar
aluminum-hulled 110-footers, one of which is headed for the United States and
the other for Europe. At the Monaco Yacht Show last fall, the company announced
it has again teamed up with Luiz de Basto and naval architect Robert Schofield
on the design of a 125-footer, shown below. The yacht will feature four
staterooms, crew space for eight and at-anchor stabilization. Fittipaldi is the
brother of well-known Formula One and Champ Car star Emerson Fittipaldi and
father of former Champ Car driver Christian Fittipaldi. (Click image to enlarge)
