More J Class Yacht Projects in the Works.
Waterfront: Evoking an Era

Four rebuilt or replicated J Class yachts are now in service—Endeavour, Ranger, Shamrock V and Velsheda—and the J Class Association has announced plans for up to three more. These announcements follow a move to modify the class rules to allow for a maximum rating rather than a waterline-length limit. Design work on a replica of Yankee, which sailed in the America’s Cup trials of 1934, is already under way at Gerard Dijkstra & Partners in Holland. Replicas of the British Endeavour II and a Swedish challenger that never launched are also being considered.
