Ocean-Going 125-footer Ready for Fitout.

The hull and superstructure of the new 125-foot flagship of
German builder Farmont were recently completed at the company’s yard in
Antalya, Turkey. Designed by well-known Dutch designer René van der Velden,
the expedition-style Farmont FY38m is almost 55 feet longer than the company’s
largest existing series. The fiberglass composite vessel has a beam of just over
27 feet. Equipped with twin Caterpillars, it is expected to have a cruising
range of 6,000 nautical miles at 13 knots. Top speed will be 14 knots.
Hull No. 1’s interior is envisioned with classical styling, including beamed
ceilings and raised-panel joinery. The design and layout, however, may be
changed to suit the owner’s desires.
