Waterfront: Feadship's Turnkey Tri-Deck
Dutch Builder Adds Second Semi-Custom Offering.

Feadship 128
At the 2005 Monaco Yacht Show, Feadship unveiled plans for a new 128-foot semi-production series. The clever new aluminum tri-deck motor yachts are being built at the De Vries yard, but unlike Van Lent’s F45 series, these pocket yachts will be built-to-order only.

Key to the project is a hull form template and a variety of interior arrangement modules that clients can assemble jigsaw-puzzle fashion until they create a layout that suits their individual lifestyle. Certain elements, such as the aft engine room, stern tender garage, central circular staircase and ducted AC system, are non-negotiable. But owners can mix three to six staterooms, salon, dining area and upper deck configurations for an uncommon variety of options. For €21 million, you get a turnkey project, including soft goods and design fees, with generous allowances for furnishings. The inaugural SL 128—SL stands for smart and light—has been sold to a first-time Feadship customer who will take delivery in 2008. (Click image to enlarge)
