Company to build 120-foot sailing yacht for cruising.
Waterfront: French Mega-Cat

The universe of large cruising catamarans took another step forward with the announcement in September that a new company has started building molds for a 120-foot sailing cat.

The French company Nahema announced at the Monaco Yacht Show that it sold the first hull and that an Australian company had begun producing molds for shipment to builder H2X Yachts & Ships on the Riviera.

Designed by Gilles Vaton, the Nahema 120 will be built on female molds using an E-glass and carbon/PVC/epoxy sandwich. Interior features will include a simple, contemporary design, walls and veneers in treated natural oak, brushed stainless appliances and sliding doors to the salon aft that open fully to join the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The four double suites have independent access for privacy and are equipped with a state-of-the-art audio-video system. There are crew quarters in each hull.

The yacht is scheduled for launch in March 2009.
