Burger to Build Lightweight, High-Speed Motor Yacht.

Burger Boat Company announced in September that it has signed a
contract for a contemporary-styled 101-foot (31-meter) enclosed-bridge,
high-speed motor yacht for an experienced yachting family in the United
States. The vessel will be designed by Cor D. Rover (exterior styling), Donald
L. Blount and Associates (engineering) and the Burger design team.
Dubbed Liberty, the yacht will incorporate extensive use
of strong, lightweight materials and carefully calculated design and engineering
parameters. The hull will have both a hard chine and soft chine, with the hard
chine providing the necessary lift to achieve higher speeds, and the soft chine
ensuring comfortable seakeeping qualities. The propulsion system will include a
pair of 2,400-hp MTU M93 common rail diesels. The yacht will be fully ABS
certified and will have several unique features, including a comprehensive
ship’s monitoring and information system integrated with the entire vessel’s
electrical power system.
