Waterfront: ISA Does It
Italian builder signs a new 50-meter displacement yacht.

Italy’s International Shipyards Ancona (ISA) has begun construction of a 50-meter displacement vessel for a new client. The yacht is another collaboration between the builder and Vallicelli Studio, which previously produced the composite ISA 120 series and a 63-meter design started last year. The ISA 500 is based on the 48-meter platform, the first of which launched last summer. The 480 is an evolution of the company’s successful 47-meter design.

The 500 will have a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure. Encircling her spacious salon will be a panoramic window with wide doors that open onto the aft main deck, creating a spacious indoor/outdoor living area. Her transom will open to create a "beach" area for swimming or launching water toys. Her sun deck will be more than 17 meters long and will feature a pool, a sunning area and a bar, as well as a shaded dining table.

She will be powered by a pair of MTU 12V400 M71 diesels that will propel her to a top speed of 16.8 knots. She will cruise comfortably at 14.5. Delivery is expected in 2010.
