London-based designer Tim Heywood is bringing
the expertise he has developed over 33 years in the yachting industry and
refined with projects such as the Lürssen superyachts Pelorus and
Ice
(ex-Air) to the new 115-meter (378-foot) Morpheus project. Named for the
mythological god of dreams, Morpheus will be constructed by Italian
shipbuilding giant Fincantieri, which recently announced its entry into the
luxury yacht sector.
Tim Heywood Design has incorporated a number of amenities into the
yacht’s design reminiscent of an exclusive resort spa, including a lower-deck
"wellness center" with a gym, sauna, massage rooms and hair salon—not to mention
a 9.5-meter swimming pool with a waterfall cascading into it from the deck
above. The yacht’s accommodations include a private owner’s deck with a separate
salon, outdoor cinema and terrace overlooking the foredeck. Eight additional
suites hold 16 guests, who will be well pampered by the 47 staff and crewmembers
housed on board Morpheus.
