Dutch builder contracts for its largest yacht yet.
Waterfront: Moonen XXL

Moonen 124
Moonen Shipyards has started construction on the steel hull and aluminum superstructure of its longest and largest displacement yacht to date, the 37.8-meter Moonen 124. A repeat client was attracted to René van der Velden’s styling of the Moonen 120, which was the largest design in Moonen’s displacement series. Van der Velden and Moonen modified and modernized the exterior styling for the larger hull. The general arrangement and engineering were also modified.

The 124 will be the first Moonen with a central atrium and a spiral staircase serving three decks and the flybridge. On the lower deck are two double and two twin guest staterooms. The fusion-styled interior by Art-Line combines cherry paneling, woven bamboo, leather and wood floors.

Twin MTU 16V2000 M60 diesel engines will deliver a top speed of 13 knots. Cruising at eight knots the 124 will have a range of 5,600 nautical miles.
