Waterfront: Moonen’s New Metal Dutch Builder Introduces All-Aluminum MY Line. 04/01/2006
Holland’s Moonen Shipyard will launch its
first all-aluminum yacht series, which will use a design for a 94-foot
(28.7-meter) motor yacht by Rene van der Velden. The yachts will employ
round-bilged semi-displacement hulls that draw 1.8 meters and displace just 83
tons. Caterpillar will provide the power with twin C32s that will generate top
speeds of 22 knots and cruising speeds of 16 knots. Art Line will provide the
interior design, which will spread across a beam of 6.8 meters. The
raised-pilothouse design will include full walkarounds and a flying bridge. (Click image to enlarge)
