Waterfront: New Dog, New Tricks
Repeat Client Taps Kuipers for Larger Doggersbank.

Kuipers 102
Satisfied with his Doggersbank Offshore 84 delivered by Kuipers Shipyard in May 2002 but looking for more room, the owner went directly to the shipyard to commission his next boat, 102-foot Beothuk. Thus, the expedition cruiser will be the first ever Kuipers Doggersbank, a change in the brand name. As with all Doggersbanks, the core design for Beothuk comes from Vripack International Naval Architects.

The traditional process would then see the project tendered out to select yards for construction. But in this case, the owner is working directly with the Dutch yard and Vripack to fully customize the boat to his specific needs. The new Beothuk will be delivered to her Canadian owner in early 2007, fully equipped for no-nonsense global cruising.
