Waterfront: New Dutch Builder Off and Running
Icon Yachts announces the sale of its third 62-meter.

Icon Yachts of the Netherlands announced last fall it is fully up and running with three orders for its 62-meter motor yacht design. Managing Director Wim Koersvelt announced at the Monaco Yacht Show that the company has begun cutting steel for Hull No. 3 of the series, which was unveiled in 2006. The third hull is scheduled for delivery in 2009.

A key component of Icon’s approach is efficiency in the engineering and build process leading to quicker delivery times and better economy than many custom yachts. Tim Heywood styled the exterior of the 62-meter, and Redman Whiteley Dixon did the interior layout. The first 62 features an 85-square-meter owner’s apartment with a private lounge spread over two levels. Burgess is overseeing project management.
