Waterfront: New Edition
Amels Adds a Larger Model to Its Successful Semi-Custom Line.

Amels 212
Building on the highly successful debut of the Amels 171 Limited Editions series motor yacht in 2005, the Dutch shipyard has announced a larger version developed by a team of highly respected designers. Like her 52-meter sibling, the 65-meter (213-foot) Amels 212 features an exterior design by Tim Heywood. Her interior will be created by Andrew Winch.

The five-deck Amels 212 is topped by a 200-square-meter sun deck with an outdoor dining area for 12, hot tub, jet-stream pool, "wet-feet bar" and an enclosed "sky gym." A touch-and-go helipad is optional. Two large guest suites are located on the bridge deck, while the extensive owner’s suite lies forward on the main deck. A full-beam VIP suite and two guest staterooms on the lower deck round out the accommodations.

Amels will build the new 212, which is equipped with a low-noise electric bow thruster, as a "green" vessel. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3516Cs, she is projected to have a top speed of 17 knots.
