Delta Marine in January
announced the commencement of construction on the 151-foot, full-displacement motor yacht Katya. With engineering and an
exterior styled by the Delta Design Group, the new yacht will be both Lloyd’s
and MCA classed. Her owners, an American family from the Midwest, wanted an
interior that was elegant, yet comfortable.
Working with their designer, Jean-Claude Canestrelli, and the
Delta Design Group, the owners chose dark-figured khaya veneers, amboyna and
maple burls and crotch mahogany as the featured woods. The main salon will sport
large windows to let in light and provide broad views of the surrounding
environment. The full-width master, located forward on the main deck, also
features large windows. Below are four guest cabins. Like the main living
spaces, the guest areas will feature warm tones, satin finishes, painted
overheads and soft, upholstered wall panels.
Katya will be powered by a pair of
Caterpillar 3508 diesels and has zero-speed stabilizers. She will launch next
year.
