Sovereign motor yacht Warwick Design building two very different yachts from same mold.
Waterfront: One Makes Two

Sovereign 103 & 116
Among the more than half-dozen projects currently under way by Auckland-based Warwick Yacht Design are two yachts of strikingly different appearance – they don’t even have the same LOA – that will both be pulled from the same hull mold at Sovereign Yachts’ new facility in Hobsonville, New Zealand.

According to naval architect Bruce Warwick, Sovereign requested a semi-displacement, semi-tunnel hull design suitable for boats of 103 to 121 feet. The challenge, said Warwick, was producing a single hull mold suitable for both sportfishing and motor yachts.

The first boat out will be a 28-knot, 103-foot sportfisher with such luxury features as a formal dining salon, skylounge and full-beam owner’s suite. The second is a 25-knot, 116-foot tri-deck motor yacht sporting two full-beam suites and a large fore-and-aft tender garage.
