Waterfront: Out of the Shell
Britain’s Oyster Marine crosses 100-foot threshold with two new designs.

Britain’s Oyster Marine commissioned Dubois Naval Architects to produce two new large-yacht designs: the Dubois Oyster 100 and the Dubois Oyster 125. The yachts cross a new threshold for Oyster, which has been building premium semi-custom yachts up to 82 feet for 34 years. The company has more than 1,100 yachts in commission. Dubois has some 40 designs over 100 feet in commission.

Both Dubois Oyster models will be built from female tooling with composite materials. They will be constructed at the bustling RMK Marine in Istanbul. Tooling is expected to begin on the 100 in the fourth quarter of this year with delivery expected sometime in 2009.

"We’re excited that at last we can offer a competitive range of large yachts designed and built with detail and quality that will raise the bar, even by superyacht standards," said Oyster Chairman and CEO Richard Matthews.
