The Italian builder starts construction of Hull No. 1 in a line of fast cruisers.
Waterfront: Perini Flyers

Perini Navi 125
Perini Navi has announced beginning construction on the first of a line of fast, aluminum 125-footers designed by Philippe Briand. The Italian builder says the owner of the first hull has insisted on outstanding performance, especially when sailing upwind. At 140 tons, the vessel is of medium to light displacement. Waterline length was stretched to the maximum, leaving her stem almost vertical. She has a high-aspect-ratio sail plan to enhance her performance upwind. She is also equipped with a lifting keel.

Her interior is by Perini and is being constructed of lightweight materials. The design features a spacious master suite, a large deck salon and, depending on the version, two to four guest cabins.

The aesthetic roof design accentuates the yacht’s racy character. It houses an extremely spacious and well-sheltered cockpit. The expansive aft deck houses a five-meter tender.

The launch of Hull No. 1 is scheduled for June 2008.
