Holland Jachtbouw announced that it signed a contract for a 42-meter, semi-displacement motor yacht. The all-aluminum "gentleman’s yacht" will have exterior design and naval architecture by Langan Design and a European cherry interior by Dick Young Designs. A repeat client with very specific demands in terms of customization and quality ordered the yacht. He had no desire to compromise with a semi-custom or series yacht. Scheduled for delivery in October 2009, the yacht will be built to Lloyd’s and MCA regulations. "The fact that this yacht will be built for an existing client is very satisfying," says Holland Jachtbouw Managing Director Paul Dielemans. "We are delighted when owners are so pleased with the quality and performance of their previous yacht that they choose to partner with us again. It is also a great chance for the yard to build upon an existing relationship and create a new yacht to the next level of sophistication, putting both the owner’s and our own experiences into practice." At just under 500 gross tons, the project matches Holland Jachtbouw’s preferred position in the motor yacht market. "Along with the recent order of the 62-meter schooner Athos, it shows that Holland Jachtbouw’s business plan is in sync with the demands of sailing and motor yacht connoisseurs alike," says Dielemans. "Moreover, our state-of-the-art new facilities will be used to the utmost efficiency when opened this fall." The yacht will have a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of
15.5 knots. Contact Holland Jachtbouw at +31 75 6149133. www.hollandjachtbouw.nl |
