Hoek and Holland Jachtbouw team up for 62-meter Athos.

Construction has begun at
Holland Jachtbouw in the Netherlands on the 62-meter schooner Athos.
Athos was designed for dual use as a family cruiser and a charter
yacht. She will be built to MCA specifications and registered under Veritas
rules. Her interior layout features the owner-privacy concept successfully used
by Hoek Design on Boreas and Adèle. The
full-beam owner’s suite features a large bathroom between the owner’s
deckhouse and bedroom. Direct access is provided to the owner’s deckhouse and
the owner’s cockpit on the aft deck. Privacy is assured in the deckhouse by having the wheel positioned forward. Forward of the owner’s suite are four equally sized guest staterooms.
Athos will have carbon spars and furling
booms, along with 1,980 square meters of upwind sail area, a shallow-draft keel
and centerboard.
