French Builder’s 50th Hull Is Another Briand Design.
Waterfront: The Big Five-O

CNB 105
France’s CNB is celebrating its recent start on Hull No. 50, a 105-foot sloop from the drawing board of Phillipe Briand. Based on the deck and interior layout plans of Grand Bleu Vintage (CNB 95'), this composite fiberglass/carbon/balsa/vinylester ocean cruiser will, according to Briand, "have the trademark Briand look and aesthetics very close to the 115," a CNB build launched earlier this year.

A 24.4-foot beam will accommodate the owner’s suite and three guestrooms finished in light woods. The salon will feature mahogany pomelé. The exterior will include a table, a sofa and banquettes that can all be adjusted by remote control, allowing them to be used on either the windward or leeward side. A transom garage houses a tender with an inboard water jet engine.

Displacing approximately 220,000 pounds, the 105 will draw just over 13 feet. A 130-foot mast supports a sail plan of more than 13,000 square feet. She will be delivered in October 2006.
