Waterfront: A Watch to Dive For

Swiss watchmaker Eterna, which has been making timepieces since 1856 and is currently owned by Porsche Design, has introduced to North America the KonTiki Diver watch. The KonTiki Diver features a number of innovative features in its case construction, such as its hinged lid mechanism and its sealing system, which derives from the shaft seals on Porsche automobiles. The hinged lid mechanism links the bridge and the container, which allows divers to fold the container out of the bridge before beginning a dive after unlocking it by pressing two spring-loaded buttons. Divers are then able to set perfect and secure dive times on the dual-direction rotating bezel.

If you happen to be diving around 1,000 meters, you’d be dead, of course, but your watch would still be ticking because the Eterna KonTiki Diver is watertight to that depth. It looks great under water or on the surface.
