FLIR is FLIR Systems’ line of multi-sensor thermal imaging products designed for maritime navigation, search and rescue, security and anti-piracy applications. The line features a gyrostabilized gimbal, a thermal imager and a daylight/lowlight CCD TV camera. Options include an eye-safe laser range finder and an auto-track laser pointer.

The thermal imager has a range of more than 10 kilometers (16 miles) and sees through total darkness, smoke and most environmental obscurants. In addition, SeaFLIR is engineered and tested to withstand the harsh marine environment, including winds of up to 200 knots. The 9-inch-deep, 13.8-inch-high unit weighs less than 30 pounds and features a 360-degree continuous pan/tilt.

The long-range performance of the thermal imager and the optional laser range finder means that suspicious approaching vessels can be detected and identified, day or night, and with the use of the laser range finder, its exact location can be geo-positioned.
