SkyMate and Nobeltec have teamed up to deliver communications, navigation, weather and positioning information in one system using one screen.

Based on the vessel’s GPS position, SkyMate 200 receives real-time weather forecasts with color NEXRAD radar images and 24-hour NOAA charts, which include 500MB forecasts, surface wind and wave forecasts. It also delivers NOAA text forecasts and five-day projections with wave height, wind and speed direction, and buoy reports.

It will automatically e-mail the vessel’s exact position, indicated on a four-color chart, to a selected list of e-mail addresses at user-specified intervals. Text-to-speech technology automatically translates e-mails into voice messages for delivery to any phone. The hybrid communications/navigation product is supplied with a SkyMate communicator with built-in GPS and antenna, VHF antenna, SkyMate software and Nobeltec’s eChart Mariner.
