Modern Materials Improve Yacht Boarding.
Waterfront: Comfortable Crossing

Exit Engineering

Utilizing modern technology, Exit Engineering has created a carbon-fiber passerelle that improves dockside boarding. The new 11.5-foot carbon-fiber gangway is targeted at the large yacht market and designed for one person to handle and deploy with ease. The gang-way folds in half for easy stowage, eliminating the need for the usual costly and heavy operating hydraulics. Due to the passerelle’s incredibly light 27.5 pounds, Exit Engineering has been able to eliminate the traditional balancing acts while boarding by making the gangway a practical and comfortable 23.6 inches wide with stanchion holders affixed to the sides. Exit Engineering says it is 50-percent wider than comparable products, while weighing considerably less.

Manufactured from a female mould utilizing carbon and epoxy pre-preg and cured in an autoclave, the unit takes a maximum load of 770 pounds and has an attractive and contemporary high-gloss carbon-fiber finish.
