Following two years of research and development, Yacht Audio has unveiled its RoomControl V2 controller, an audio command center that connects to all remote entertainment, communications and data stations on board via a conventional CAT5 cable, eliminating heavy and costly multiple wire runs. The unit is compatible with all Ethernet-capable media control centers.

RoomControl’s six serial ports control audio and video devices, and its four configurable relay outputs control plasma lifts, movie screens and curtains. Five infrared ports connect external IR senders. Network connections include Internet/e-mail, an Ethernet switch for streaming and IP telephones and WLAN access points to accommodate wireless touch screens.

The equipment can be operated using a touch screen or a Pocket PC. The V2 controller is only 10 inches square by 1.38 inches high.
