Incorporating a dual-function element in the design of the
Aquatimer Chrono-Automatic allowed International Watch Company (IWC) to
create a diver’s watch that also operates as a chronograph. The water-resistant
self-sealing crown positioned at "4 o’clock" serves as a reset button for the chronograph and operates a unidirectional rotating inner bezel via a wheel
mechanism. Pressing the crown disengages the wheel and facilitates the
operation of all watch functions. The Aquatimer Chrono-Automatic has a 42-mm
diameter titanium-and-steel case and is water resistant to 2,000 meters.
