Suzuki Marine’s DF300 V6 four-stroke outboard is the industry’s largest and tops the manufacturer’s 11-model line of four- and six-cylinder four-stroke outboard engines. Offered in 25- and 30-inch shaft lengths with available counter rotation, the large displacement engine is based on a narrow 55-degree block and uses Suzuki’s offset driveshaft. This engine builds on key features proven to work on Suzuki’s other V6 models, including a dual overhead cam power head with four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, multi-point electronic fuel injection and a gear-driven timing chain. The DF300 was awarded an ultra-low-emissions three-star rating from the California Air Resources Board. In addition to its power, the engine’s firsts include a newly designed, sleek and hydrodynamic lower unit, improving performance and top speed. It uses two-stage gear reduction with the ability to swing larger, higher-pitch props for the ideal combination of acceleration and top-end speed. The DF300 also features a new advanced electronic throttle/shift control,
providing easier rigging; improved safety; smoother, more decisive shifting; and
quicker throttle response. Suzuki Marine |
