The Sea Marshall PLB8-LR SOS MOB Alerting Unit can be worn around the neck, in a life jacket or in foul-weather gear, and activates if the wearer falls overboard. After 15 seconds of immersion, it automatically transmits an SOS radio signal, as well as a Morse code light signal, which is received by the SARfinder 1003 base unit on the boat or by the local SAR aircraft or vessels. The battery lasts 10 years, even while armed. The unit will
transmit continuously for 24 to 30 hours and can be manually activated or
disarmed at will. Sea Marshall |
