UV Light and Nanotechnology Deliver Non-Polluting Antifouling.
Waterfront: Green Bottom

Inspired by sensitive Southern California waters potentially suffering from a buildup of environmentally harmful traditional antifouling deposits, Sea Hawk used nanotechnology to produce an environmentally friendly antifouling paint. Named Mission Bay, it is an ablative, self-polishing antifouling for all boat bottoms. It can even be used on aluminum hulls without the need for a barrier coat.

The special copolymer contains a biocide release mechanism that prevents buildup by reacting with UV light. When exposed to UV rays, the nanotechnology-based copolymer releases the active non-metallic biocide. Unlike traditional biocides that remain in the environment for years, Mission Bay’s dissipates in seconds, avoiding long-term effects.

Sea Hawk Mission Bay CSF is the solvent-free version with ultra-low VOCs. Both coatings are available in red, blue, green, black and white and can be user-applied.

Completing the system are S-90 De-waxing Etch and Cleaner and 1290 Solvent-Free High Build Epoxy primer, which offer blister protection.
