IT Seems everyone these days wants espresso
or cappuccino or lowfat double mocha latte or other exotic coffee drink. Try as
they might, household espresso machines that fit yachts’ service pantries
generally aren’t up to the task for long. Leave it to a yachtsman to solve the
problem! Danish industrialist, coffee aficionado, sailor and owner of
Parsifal
III, Kim Vibe-Petersen, heads Scanomat, a commercial
coffee machine supplier. The magnificent machines that his firm supplies hotels
and restaurants are marvels of grinding, brewing and frothing, but they just
wouldn’t fit in his yacht. So Petersen miniaturized them. The results are the
Scanomat Barista and Barista Super Compact. Handsome and functional, they do
away with the mess of capsule-dependent espresso machines with their own fresh
bean supply and reservoirs for all the other goodies. Hot drinks in various
sizes dispense at the push of a button. Even with their tiny footprints, these
java joints are geared for 50- to 100-cup capacity per day. Scanomat |
