This mirror is merely a conduit. Turned off it’s a mirror, turned on it’s a 23-inch, HD-ready LCD display. Philips MiraVision uses a special laminated film over the LCD screen to give the display a mirror reflection when the LCD is off, but allows 100-percent light transmission when the LCD is on.

High resolution delivers a quality high-definition (HD) picture. Any HDTV decoder (DBS, cable or off-air) can be connected to the HD components video inputs to deliver an HDTV experience. Progressive scanning doubles the number of visible picture lines per field, providing a sharp, jitter-free picture. Image quality is enhanced by eliminating the stair-step edges usually associated with progressive scan displays. The unit is designed for easy frame interchangeability to meet the requirements of the surrounding decor. Mira Vision weighs 71 pounds and contains a Smart Plug for two-way communication with external control devices. (Click image to enlarge)
