Fountain Pen Honors U.S. Navy Founder.

The limited edition Gentleman Seaman fountain pen from Italian maker Omas is hand painted in
enamel and depicts John Paul Jones hoisting the American flag during the battle
of the Scarborough. To commemorate the 1779 conflict, only 779 pens have been
produced. Shaped after a ship’s spyglass, this instrument is constructed from 47
pieces of solid 18-karat gold to honor the year of Jones’ birth, 1747. The
Gentleman Seaman retails for $1,950 and is available at fine retail stores,
including SAKS Fifth Avenue.
