Remote Knowledge’s rk3000 system consists of a small, external radome and a
hand-held controller. It provides two-way connectivity with the yacht, wherever
it is located, via satellite or cell phone. It automatically selects the least
costly communications route (Iridium or Sprint) based on vessel location, yet
requires no additional hardware or contracts.
The system permits the user to
monitor and remotely control up to 128 electronic events on board the yacht, and
it delivers alert warnings to user-selected contacts. Also included is Trip
Tracker, a real-time tracking program showing the vessel’s progress during a
voyage that uploads to the user’s Web page every 15 minutes or 1.5 miles.
