marine weather forecast system
Waterfront: Weather wise
The Weather Channel Marine provides access to WSI NOWrad weather radar – the same radar that’s used by most major U.S. airlines.

The Weather Channel Marine
The Weather Channel Marine system delivers current marine weather and forecast information directly to a boat’s computer via satellite broadcast up to 200 miles off the continental U.S. shore.

The service also overlays weather information on Maptech i3 and select Raymarine displays. Stormcast displays icons showing the speed and direction of significant storms. WSI NOWrad weather radar is updated every five minutes, and shows animated loops of imagery from the past two hours.

The system provides point-and-click access to sea condition reports from 1,200 coastal reporting stations and offshore buoys — over 250 are system proprietary. Regional NOAA weather updates are delivered live as they are issued and can be selected according to the vessel’s operating area.
