Simrad’s award-winning RemoteCommander is a
remote control system operated from the company’s WR20 handheld wireless
remote. The 5.3-by-2.2-inch waterproof handset features a 1.37-by-1-inch
day-and-night backlit screen. No separate power supply is needed; the base unit
simply connects to the SimNet network. Bluetooth, Class 1 wireless
technology provides control and monitoring of SimNet-capable autopilots,
instruments, VHF, chart plotters, echo sounders and combo navigators from 300
feet away.
The WR20 provides wireless control of Simrad’s advanced steering
capabilities and gives navigators a heading information display in the palm
of their hand. It facilitates steering the vessel from anywhere on board by
entering course adjustments on the WR20 remote.
It’s also a full-function VHF handset that controls Simrad’s RS80
series VHF radios. Features include a dedicated autopilot key, keypad lock, MOB
activation, a high-capacity, rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a recharge
cradle.
