Tentacles Provide Monitoring and Control Over Electrical Systems.
Waterfront: All Hands

Moritz Aerospace’s OctoPlex Control System provides multiplexed vessel power management and monitoring via NMEA 2000 communications protocol, providing operators with complete oversight of AC- and DC-power electrical systems. It also provides remote monitoring of alarm functions, battery, engine and generator data, as well as electronic instrumentation. It features programmable automatic load shedding and reactivation at selectable current levels and automatic activation of AC and DC breakers.

Circuit breaker panels can be remotely located, enabling the use of efficient wiring schemes and reducing wiring costs and complexity throughout the boat. The redundant system is installed with two separate NMEA 2000 bus lines that continually operate with two processors in the online devices driving both buses.

If a primary bus processor fails in an online device, the system automatically switches to the second and notifies the user.
